New Erin Hunter Series: Bravelands! Book #1: Broken Pride - Preview and Speculation

To many people's surprise, a new Erin Hunter series is arriving this summer, and it takes place in the African plains!

Bravelands Book #1: Broken Pride

This new series is told from the points of view of its three main characters:

• Fearless, a male lion cub. 
• Thorn, a young male baboon.
• Sky, a young female elephant.

Here is the blurb for Bravelands Book #1: Broken Pride, which is being released June 6, 2017:

Above the plains of Bravelands, the birds can taste change on the air…

Fearless, a lion cub, is thrust into a new life when a challenger kills his father and takes control of the pride. Forced to flee, Fearless is snatched up by an eagle and discovered in its nest by a troop of baboons. They name him Cub of the Stars: some see his arrival as a good omen, whereas others believe it shows the world will be turned on its head.

Thorn, a young baboon eager to move up the troop’s hierarch, is hungry for adventure, but he also needs to reach a higher status so his beloved Berry can be his mate. Thorn isn’t the only baboon with ambition, however. The troop is horrified when their leader is murdered, and Thorn thinks he knows who did it…

Sky, a young elephant migrating towards Bravelands with her herd, only she understands the dangers facing all the animals. She has a horrifying vision of the watering hole her herd is heading towards, the water red with blood, and beside it a lion roaring in pain as a baboon howls triumphantly on its back…

A lion, a baboon and an elephant - as the omens converge, a great change comes to Bravelands, and life for the animals who live there will never be the same…

Broken Pride is 352 pages long and is sure to be action-packed! Here are some of my predictions for the book:

• Visions and omens are mentioned quite often in the blurb, so the Bravelands series will most likely have some spiritual aspects, similar to StarClan in the Warriors series.
• The blurb comments refers to a "great change" that is yet to occur. In the book overview on the HarperCollins website, there is a statement about how the balance among predators and prey could possibly be altered due to a betrayal. Perhaps these statements are related, and the change is that predators and prey turn against each other.
• Also, it's worth noting that there has always been a rule on the African plains that animals must "only kill to survive". Most likely there is going to be some conflict revolving around this rule being broken, especially considering the blurb already reveals two deaths, that of Fearless's father and that of the baboon leader.

These are just some of my thoughts regarding how the story could go based on the information that's been released so far. I am really looking forward to reading Bravelands #1: Broken Pride when it arrives on this summer! New Erin Hunter series don't come out very often, so be sure to stay tuned for any more information regarding Broken Pride!

Warriors: The Apprentice's Quest - Barnes and Noble Exclusive Edition!

I have some exciting news to share! Word has gotten out that Barnes and Noble is offering an exclusive edition of The Apprentice's Quest.

This edition of The Apprentice's Quest will include a bonus scene, as well as a double-sided jacket that has a poster on the inside. You can only get the bonus scene from the Barnes and Noble edition of the book, so I highly recommend buying The Apprentice's Quest from the Barnes and Noble store!

By the way, take a look at the amazing full cover art for The Apprentice's Quest. It is breathtakingly gorgeous!

Now you can see a group of four cats standing behind Alderpaw in the shadows. The flower petals are blowing away in the wind as well. For some reason, I feel this makes the illustration seem more dark and foreboding. What do you think?

Top 10 Most Popular Quotes from Survivors: The Gathering Darkness #1: A Pack Divided - SPOILERS

Yay, this is my first post about the series Survivors, written by Erin Hunter! And I've decided to make a list of the top ten most popular quotes from the latest book: A Pack Divided. As the first book in the arc The Gathering Darkness, we view life in the dog pack from Storm's perspective.  Well, without further delay, the quotes! And I'll warn you, there are spoilers ahead!

Warriors: A Vision of Shadows #1: The Apprentice's Quest - Preview and Speculation

As some of you may know, the new Warriors arc A Vision of Shadows will kickoff with the release of The Apprentice's Quest. A Vision of Shadows is going to be the sixth Warriors arc and is going to take place 18 months after the events of the Warriors super edition Bramblestar's Storm. Cherith Baldry, one of the authors of Warriors who writes under the pen name Erin Hunter, will be writing The Apprentice's Quest. This new book will be made available on March 15, 2016. Here is the cover image:

It's a gorgeous cover designed by the new Warriors cover artist, Owen Richardson. The Apprentices's Quest will be 336 pages long and will feature Bramblestar's and Squirrelflight's son, Alderpaw. Let's take a peek at the blurb:

Now it's time for... speculation!

First of all, the opening sentence is obviously a prophecy from Starclan that will be given to Alderpaw: "Embrace what you find in the shadows, for only they can clear the sky". The key words here are "shadows" and "sky", which refer to Shadowclan and Skyclan, respectively. So here's how I think the plot is going to go:

• Alderpaw will receive visions from Starclan (which is already confirmed in the blurb) and will be given the prophecy.
• The prophecy requires Alderpaw to team up with another apprentice in Shadowclan ("Embrace what you find in the shadows"). The cover depicts two cats as well, the one in front being Alderpaw, and the one behind him being the Shadowclan apprentice. In addition, the second book in the arc is titled Thunder and Shadow.

• Possible Shadowclan apprentices that will unite with Alderpaw include Needlepaw, Yarrowpaw, Beepaw, Sleekpaw, Juniperpaw, and Strikepaw. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it's going to be Needlepaw, mainly due to the fact that this apprentice has the most detailed description.

• Alderpaw and the Shadowclan apprentice will go a journey to bring the Skyclan cats to the lake ("for only they can clear the sky"). Also, the name of the second book in the arc originally was The Lost Clan, but was later changed to Thunder and Shadow.

I'm only throwing some ideas around, but in less than a month we will know for sure how the story is going to go! Warriors is so amazing, and the A Vision of Shadows arc is going to be a great addition to the series we all know and love. I can't wait for the new Warriors storyline to start off with The Apprentice's Quest in March.

Hey fellow Erin Hunter fans! I want to welcome you to my new blog dedicated to three amazing book series: Warriors, Seekers, and Survivors. Whether you are new to the books or have been reading them for years, I hope this blog will have something interesting to offer. I plan on making posts with and without spoilers. I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone, so I'm going to do my best to not give anything away ☺︎.
